abstract: The paper presents estimation of the influence of mid-field shelterbelts building (vertical close – open-work) on the formation of the thickness of snow cover as well as on the store of water in the snow cover. With respect to the wind conditions, occurring during the formation of the snow cover (winds blowing from different directions), clear domination of snow-drifts on one part of the shelterbelt was not affirmed. At conditions of investigations, the influence of building of shelterbelt was apparent mainly in larger thickness of snow cover in the neighborhood of and inside the compact shelterbelt. The building of shelterbelt had no larger influence on water store in the snow.
