abstract: The aim of this paper was to compare the enzyme activity involved in organic nitrogen mineralization in grey-brown podzolic soil. Winter wheat, spring wheat, winter rape and white lupine were cultivated on the soil. The measurements were curried out at different stages of vegetation period. The activity of investigated enzymes was different at different stages of plant growth and dependent on the class of the plant (monocotyledon or dicotyledonous plant). Moreover, the investigations did not allow to point out an enzyme which was involved in mineralization of organic nitrogen and which could be recognized as an indicator of activity in the vegetation period.
