abstract: This paper describes the effects of meteorological conditions on potato yield during 1972-1992 in two mesoregions in north-eastern part of Poland. The influence of meteorological conditions on potato yield was determined by multiple regression analysis using the MANOWA software, with the following parameters as the variables: mean daily air temperatures during growing season, daily air temperatures of August, precipitation during August related to total precipitation of growing season, total precipitation during growing season, total precipitation of growing season related to plant water requirements. Initial material refers to a period where annual yield was: >=30 t ha(-1) for following potato varieties (Lenino, Uran). It was found that there is significant climatological difference in investigated mesoregions.
