abstract: A comparison of simulation results of flow hydrograph using basin model in the form of single and double linear reservoir was carried out in the work. The calculations were performed for an urban basin of an area of 0.45 km2 located in Kraków-Bieżanów. As the basic input parameter, the rainfall of 99 mm was taken, that fell down during 120 min on 9th September, 1963, recorded at the meteorological station of the Jagiellonian University Botanical Garden in Kraków. Additionally, calculations were made for a rainfall of 1% probability and duration of 90 min, determined based on the Bogdanowicz-Stachy equation. From hydrograph course it results that the discharge, in the case of a double linear reservoir, attains culmination after 30 min, and Qmax (maximum capacity flow) gaines value of 5.35 m3 s(-1) . It was found that culmination of discharge for the basin model as a single linear reservoir took place after 10 min of the phenomenon duration and achieved Qmax = 1.82 m3 s(-1) .
